AUDITION INFORMATION
ABOUT THE TV PROGRAM:
For the past 13 years, the CPI
television show definitely gets the message from our youth out to the community. The Cox Plugged In TV show is an informative, fast-paced and energetic hour program that promotes the good things happening in education and the community - through the eyes and voices of our area youth. Cox annually auditions over a hundred students to fill the student positions on the Cox Plugged In TV program. Selected student learn to produce segments, create news packages and discuss the show’s many topics, subjects and educational issues.
Over 25 students are accepted annually to participate in 12 monthly tapings. The CPI-TV program has won numerous national, state and local awards for its unique program content and mission.
We are proud many CPI students have gone on to major colleges and universities. Students have gone into a wide variety of career paths. Some have even gone into communications, broadcast journalism, production, etc. Those students graduating from college have found themselves in successful positions with numerous businesses, corporations, etc.

Cox is looking for high schools students from any public, private or parochial school located in any of the 17 parishes Cox serves in Louisiana - Acadiana area, Baton Rouge or New Orleans. We are asking for interested students to write us an e-mail, answer the questions below and attach a profile picture.

POTENTIAL AUDITION QUESTIONS:
1. Explain why you would like to be on the CPI-TV program?
2. How would you describe yourself?
3. What issue do you feel is the most important one facing young people today?
4. Are you currently involved in your school's TV production class or drama program? If so, please explain your involvement and experiences.
5. What are your short & long educational and/or occupational goals?
6. What extracurricular activities and interests are you involved in? (clubs, organizations, sports, youth groups, hobbies, drama, music, etc.)
7. Please provide a list of any honors, awards, specials, achievements you have received (please include year).
PROFILE PICTURE:
An digitial picture will taken at the audition. The picture will be strictly used for identification purposes. The image will be used for internal purposes only and not to be posted, distributed or shared.

FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION:
Students who are selected to participate will receive a call as well as information in the mail regarding their selection.
Students not accepted will receive a letter stating that they are not selected for the upcoming school year, but if eligible are encouraged to re-audition the following year.
