Volunteer New Orleans

VOLUNTEER NEW ORLEANS WEEK:

The week of March 5 – 11, 2007, will be proclaimed as "Volunteer New Orleans Week" throughout the 4-parishes of Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard and St. Charles parishes. This weeklong worth of activities will incorporate in daily volunteer initiatives, community events, and other programs centered around making a difference.

The week will culminate with the following major events:

• Weeklong activities focused on local volunteerism

• Partner with ‘signature’ non-profits and charitable

• Encourage region wide focus on the need for volunteerism

• Work media for weekly spotlights and focus

• Saturday, March 10:  11am – 3pm

• Lakeside Shopping Center

• Over 30 area non-profits/vendors

• Citizens can learn about volunteer opportunities & sign-up

• Potential seminars or guest speakers on the importance of volunteerism

• Sunday, March 11, 4pm

• McAllister Auditorium – Tulane University

• Tickets ($12 Adults, $10 students) available at any Cox Service Center

• To benefit Habitat for Humanity, New Orleans City Park, & Volunteers of America

• Show focuses on the impact of volunteerism
